About 6 months ago Razer came out with a campaign that stated “PC Gaming is not dead” and sent us to a campaign website. This campaign was all about the release of the Razer Blade – possibly one of the greatest innovations Razer has had, and will massively shift the space Razer as a company is in. The campaign was good, albeit the push behind it was a bit frustrating – PC Gaming….. Dead? What gives?
Singapore baby! Nesting territory
Over the course of a September weekend I was lucky enough to be asked to go over to Singapore for an event called TGX 2011, or, The Games Expo 2011. I was required for a game called Dragon Nest for which had recently had a PvP mode added to it and the brief was that I would be required to commentate the games played on stage over the weekend. This brief is a standard one for Gamestah at many of the events we attend, but what ensued was very different. Following is the details of an awesome weekend……
I arrived at Changi Airport, Singapore late on Thursday night, and then waited a bit for Glimmer to get in from Perth. We then proceeded to the hotel, chilled and got ready for the days ahead. Glimmer was over for Garena to generally help them with their game coverage across the weekend with his focus on Heroes of Newerth, G Kart, Blackshot and his beloved League of Legends. His schedule was a full one with few breaks and a generous amount of stage time for matches including various finals. There was no mention of Dragon Nest on his documentation, and so the mystery of what I would be doing for the weekend continued.
