The 600.

The evening of April 9th 2012 passed with many marking this Monday Easter holiday observation with the return to their homes after a break away, or generally as just another night to watch garbage TV. But a little after 10pm in New Zealand, I sent my 600th shoutcast live. It wasn’t the 600th match I’ve commentated, but it was number 600 as far as recorded matches, and the statistics kept, showed. And it was a good ‘un.

Back in July 2008, I started a commentary career with Gamestah – starting as one of a select group of casters who had the fortune of casting alongside Momowang. It was CyberGamer’s Invite level league, Season 1, and the New Zealand based, sila took on Qlimax Crew on Crossfire as my maiden match as a co-caster in this audio only extravaganza. Recalling the match, the post xLAN hangover kicked sila in the nuts as they struggled for a few weeks to get back in to their Call of Duty 4, and Qlimax Crew took advantage. The match was filled with More…

Sydney Gamers League 6 – Call of Duty 4 LAN Summary

A big weekend was had at the Sydney Gamers League maiden outing for 2012, and it deserves an epic post of the action I was a part of, but also of the action that Gamestah managed to put together for the weekend’s Call of Duty 4, and it’s community. We managed to get to 10 matches in some shape or form, we took a ton of photos and even managed a few interviews. Below is a summary of the matches, the interviews, and a short gallery of some of the photos I took from the event.

Of course, don’t forget you can find all of the games, coverage and more on the Gamestah website, and the entire gallery of photos on the Gamestah Facebook page here for day 1, and here for day 2.

Alienware Dragon Nest PvP Finals – Singapore, December 2011

Late last year I was asked back to Singapore to commentate some more Dragon Nest. A solo adventure I was only required for a single day for a 4 team round robin tournament which was to complete a competition which had taken place online for a number of weeks. The teams were restricted to being from Singapore, Malaysia,  Indonesia and the Philippines.

The set up of the competition was a simple 4v4, first to 5 rounds wins, and the PvP play in Dragon Nest is pretty immense. I won’t recount details of the day’s action, but will leave the link to the YouTube Playlist here:

Gamestah CoD4 Highlight Reel #2

The second in this series of CyberGamer Season 6 Call of Duty 4 Highlight reels. I learnt a lot during this one, and added a few extra bits and pieces to try out some effects.

This second compilation is again only 3 matches, and I have another 3 more matches of the regular season to edit, and then on to finals. Again, the idea is not to have a pro-edit, but more a bit of action along with some of the Gamestah hilarity. Enjoy!

Gamestah CoD4 Highlight Reel #1

Season 6 of the CyberGamer Call of Duty 4 season has basically come to a close, and given Gamestah did a large number of casts for the leagues and I wanted to learn a bit of basic video editing, I pondered “why not put together a Gamestah highlights package?” And thus this video was created, as was an Arseynimz intro!

This compilation is only 3 matches of a around 20+ in the library to be edited, and I am slowly working through all the matches for the season to create a few more of these videos for the series. The idea was to combine a bit of action along with some of the stupidity that we put together in the Gamestah commentary. Enjoy!
